The World is on Fire

There’s a red sun rising thru the smoky haze
And somewhere the fires are burning
I keep my distance, and I look away
But I can’t keep the world from turning

Now the air’s so thick that I can’t breathe
You know that smoke gets in your eyes
I can’t see the forest, for the trees
And now the flames are getting higher
        The world is on fire.

The wind keeps howling but the sky won’t rain
And my soul is dry and tender
I turn off the news, I swallow the shame
    But the angry gods remember

Lord Shiva was riding thru my dreams last night
Blazing a trail of tears, and piercing the
Accumulated numbness of all these years
    If it’s a wake-up we require.....
        The world is on fire.

I surrender to the Universal laws
Maybe the fire is a holy warrior, a rebel with a cause......

Now the dust is thick on the good red road
But the medicine wheel is true
Mother Nature will find a balance
And it matters what I do

So I keep my heart connected
    And my passionate vision clear
I will stake my life on the love I feel
And I am burning with desire
Because the world is on fire......
